Bio

Coach Steven Fisher enters his second year as the Vikings Baseball Assistant Coach.. Entering his second year at Barstow he looks to lead Barstow to a league championship, while continuing to grow players and transition student athletes on to the next level. In the 2017 season at Barstow College, Coach Fisher assisted Head Coach Bryan King working with outfielders and assisted with hitting. This 2018 season is an exciting one for Coach Fisher, as he moves into his first year as a head assistant coach and third year as an assistant coach. This year holds unlimited possibilities and Coach Fisher hopes to make the most of it as he heads up the offense and assists Coach Walker with daily responsibilities.

Coach Fisher is a native of San Marcos, CA. After graduating high school in 2011 Coach Fisher played two years of Division I baseball in the Big West Conference at UC Santa Barbara under Head Coach Andrew Checketts. After injuries led him to take a year off from baseball Coach Fisher found himself with the opportunity to play NAIA baseball in Wichita, Kansas. Coach Fisher finished up his playing career and graduated from Friends University in 2016. Coach Fisher got his start in coaching in NAIA under Head Coach Adam Niesius at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas in 2016 as an undergraduate assistant. Under Coach Niesius Coach Fisher worked with both infielders and outfielders, and also assisted with hitters.

In Coach Fisher’s first year he demonstrated an outstanding work ethic, and commitment to serve the student-athlete. There are big things in store for the Viking program with Coach Fisher’s guidance.”

Coach Fisher resides in Barstow with his Fiancée Larissa, and three dogs Diesel, Copper, and Wilmer
