Jonah Yang to sign National Letter of Intent with #3 team in the Nation

Barstow, CA- Viking Sophomore Jonah Yang has committed to play baseball next year with perennial NAIA powerhouse Bellevue University.  Yang, a Centerfielder from Diamond Barr High School, plans to major in Physical Therapy.

Jonah had an outstanding freshman campaign in 2016.  Yang complied 52 hits, 15 Doubles, 2 Triples, 3 Home runs and a team high 39 RBI in just 36 games.  His final batting average on the season was .366.

Bellevue University is located in Omaha, NE and boasts one of the richest traditions in College Baseball.  The 2016 Bruins finished 52-14 and earned a bid to the National Championship Tournament.  The 2017 pre-season poll has the Bruins as the 3rd ranked team in the Nation.

Bellevue Head Coach Duane Monlux said this about Jonah:

“Jonah is an experienced hitter that had a great deal of success as a freshman at Barstow Community College in the Foothill Conference in California. He hit for a high average and had real solid power numbers as well. He is a great young man with a very bright future at Bellevue University. We will be looking for him to add some pop to the middle of our lineup during the 2018 season. We are thrilled that he has committed to being a Bruin next school year.”
